Art In Transit Port Douglas

Artist in Transit

Local artists create an art gallery as a collective.

A new light, bright premises on Port Douglas’ main thoroughfare, Macrossan Street, will become a new home for a group of well-known local artists.

Art in Transit is the artists’ collective behind the gallery concept, spearheaded by visual artist Chrissie Mclaughlin.

The collection of paintings, photography, sculptures, silks, jewellery and pottery have been carefully curated in the space showcasing each artist, with the artists themselves running the gallery, giving locals and visitors to the region an opportunity to interact with the artist and their works.

The 18 exhibiting artists include Tania Heben, Rod Sherlock, Jeffrey Whitehill, Danielle Piat, Laini Eckardt, Gabrielle Cooney – Flintstone Design, Jill Booth, Chrissie Mclaughlin, Michelle Murray, Ang Constable, Robert Cornelissen, Jillian Zamora, Kate Hunter, Janet Mackay, Perrin Clarke, Alison George and Cara Stevens.
