5 August Variety Bondi to Batt Reef

The NSW Variety Club Bondi To Batt Reef vehicles will be coming to Port Douglas on August 5th! Come along and show your support, the parade will commence from between 12.30 and 1pm coming into town and along Port Douglas Road, Davidson Street and Macrossan Street.

8-11 August Reef to Reef

Aussie’s newest MTB stage race, Reef to Reef, rolls through the heart of Tropical North Queensland for four days – Thursday 8th to Sunday 11th August 2019.
Starting on the coast it heads inland through tablelands, hinterland, farm lands, MTB parks, and tropical rainforest before finishing back at the coast four days and around 200 km’s later. Each day has unique terrain and character with a mix of fast flowing single trail, farm track, groomed downhill trails and fire trails.

The Douglas Theatre Arts Group presents “Ladies and Gentlemen”. Join our choir of 50 local members singing a showcase of Classical, Classics and Modern Music.

August 22, 23, 24, 25 at 7.30pm with a matinee on the 25th at 2pm

24 August Tangaroa Blue 4 Mile Beach Clean Up

4 Mile Beach in Port Douglas is one of our longest running QLD beach monitoring sites, which we clean and record data on every month.
Our Tangaroa Blue coordinator will be meeting volunteers at Bruno Reidwig Park at the end of Solander Blvd, Port Douglas at 8:30am for a beach clean-up and data collection activity.

Our local AFL Team the Port Douglas Crocs take on South Cairns at the Port Douglas Sporting Ground. Reserves at 12pm seniors at 2pm.

25 August Car Rally

Up for a bit of fun?!!!! Join the Douglas Hockey Assoc. in our social car rally/treasure hunt across the Douglas Shire. Sunday 25 August 2019. 11am registration for 11.30am start. Departing from Mossman Showgrounds. $10 per person entry. Min 2 people per car. So fill up the car with family & friends! Teams are encouraged to dress up/theme your car. There will be a trophy for first place & a prize for best themed car. BBQ lunch and drinks also available for purchase. Limited numbers so book in now!”

25 August Kuranda to Port Douglas Trail Race

Entries are open.
This Point-to-Point race starts just off Kennedy Highway in Kuranda and follows Black Mountain Road that runs through native rainforest, open eucalyptus forest, pine plantations and crosses picturesque creeks to finish on Four Mile Beach, Port Douglas. The course is incorporated in the Mowbray National Park within the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. The tropical rainforest is home to the endangered southern cassowary, a flightless bird that can grow to two metres in height – you might see one

31 August Great Northern Bull Riding Series

Proudly brought to you by Mossman Port Douglas Senior Sharks Rugby League The Great Northern Bullriding series returns to Mossman Showgrounds for another great event on the 31st of August 2019. The Great Northern Bucking Chutes and small arena will be erected right in front of the grandstand and bar so you get up close and personal to the action.

Gates open at 5pm with the main event starting at 7pm.

Bar open till late | Ringers Western Merchandise Truck | Variety of food available | Loads of giveaways | Hot showers and FREE camping Saturday night | After party with Live band till late.
