If you are wondering whether you should buy a ticket to Maho Magic Bar, the answer is “Yes. Absolutely, yes!” Whether you believe in magic or not, Maho Magic Bar will have you utterly entranced from beginning to end, put under the spell of these wickedly entertaining tricksters.
Inspired by the magic bars of Japan’s nightlife district, stepping inside the neon-lit room will immediately transport you from the tropics to downtown Tokyo. Beautifully adorned with cherry blossoms, sake bottles and Japanese lanterns, the space feels entirely authentic and amusingly kitsch all at once. I loved it!

Taking a seat at one of four bars, each manned by a master magician with a cheeky glint in their eye, we had no idea what we were in for. And that is all part of the fun! What unfolded was an evening of continual amazement and surprise. You won’t believe your eyes. You’ll wonder how. You’ll wonder WHY?? And you’ll laugh until your cheeks hurt.

While you sit just inches from the action, an eccentric cast of Japanese magicians perform masterful sleights of hand right before your disbelieving eyes. You may think you know what’s coming, but these sorcerers are always one step ahead. I guarantee you’ll be won over, whether by their smooth illusions that’ll have you in a bind (sometimes literally), disarming charm, or cheeky humour.

Entirely interactive, everyone in attendance becomes part of the magic. Feeling adventurous? Peruse the “special menu” to volunteer yourself (or a willing/unwilling friend) to take centre stage for a wonderful, hilarious and mindblowing performance in front of the whole crowd. You really never know what you may get with this mischievous bunch.
Part magic act, part performance. Perhaps it can be described as a fantastically choreographed combination of magic and mayhem, comedy and charisma, talent and trickery, all wrapped up in a neon-lit bow. This is a truly world-class show.
