New Art Gallery to showcase local talent in Port Douglas!

Local artists create an art gallery as a collective.

A new light, bright premises on Port Douglas’ main thoroughfare, Macrossan Street, will become a new home for a group of well-known local artists.

Art in Transit is the artists’ collective behind the gallery, spearheaded by visual artist Chrissie Mclaughlin. The collection of paintings, sculptures, silks, jewellery,photography and pottery have been carefully curated in the space showcasing each artist, with the artists themselves running the gallery, giving locals and visitors to the region an opportunity to interact with the artist and their works.

The 18 exhibiting artists include Tania Heben, Che, Rod Sherlock, Jeffrey Whitehill, Danielle Piat, Laini Eckardt, Gabrielle Cooney, Chrissie Mclaughlin, Michelle Murray, Ang Constable, Robert Cornelissen, Jillian Zamora, Kate Hunter, Janet Mackay, Perrin Clarke, Alison George, Cara Stevens and Jill Booth

There will be an official opening event held on Friday September 6th from 5.30pm – 8.00pm at the new gallery premises located at Shop15, Coconut Grove Resort, Shop15, 56 Macrossan Street.

The event is an open invite with each of the 18 artists and their works available for artists discussion.
