WELCOME TO THE PORT DOUGLAS NEIGHBOURHOOD CENTRE

Port Douglas Neighbourhood Centre is a Not-For-Profit incorporated community organisation whose services and activities are funded by the Queensland Government, Department of Communities, Housing & Digital Economy, the Department of Social Services and Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand.

We can help you actively engage with your community through group activities like Craft, Fortnightly Foodies, Men’s Breakfast, Tai Chi, Book Clubs, Meditation and Well Being classes, a Sewing group and new to our groups is Pickle Ball and Table Tennis. We offer a monthly subsidised bus trip to Cairns and provide free showers and laundry facilities. We also have a Centrelink Access Point. We support and advocate for the community with a priority for those with limited opportunities.

Room Rental is available with the use of Centre Facilities, Access to a Justice of the Peace, Domestic Violence Support Service, AA Meetings and Australian Hearing.

We provide Emergency Relief, as well as OzHarvest & Second Bite Rescue food distribution, Advice, Information and Referral, a Free Book Exchange & Resource Library, Our Financial Resilience services include the No Interest Loan Scheme and the Queensland Financial Resilience Program which offers tailored help to improve financial wellbeing.   

Our Community Garden is open to everyone.
