Now in it’s ninth year, The Port Douglas Neighbourhood Centre is once again reaching out to those in need in our community, in their annual Christmas Spirit Appeal.
In conjunction with What’s On In Port, we are introducing the “Twelve Days Of Christmas”.
We are asking our wonderful local Shire residents to participate by donating goods relating to each of the twelve days as will be published over the coming weeks.



12th November Undertow – Shock Therapy

It is an honest and powerful look at the hidden forces, beneath the surface that move us and determine the choices we make and the actions we take. Centering around a high school community, the show follows a group of individuals, from a range of backgrounds, all dealing with their own unique challenges. Shock Therapy draw on a range of film conventions and physical theatre techniques to push their signature style in a new direction, blurring the line between different realities.

It’s almost time for our annual End of Year Art Exhibition! This event showcases a wide variety of quality work that has been created by local artists during the year.
Art on display includes fabulous range of acrylic and watercolour paintings, botanical paintings, urban sketches, pottery, glass work, jewellery and mosaics.
Come in, grab some unique and affordable Christmas gifts, and support your local artists.
DAB Gallery is open Monday to Saturday, 10 am – 2 pm. Everyone is welcome.

Art is such a wonderful way to connect with parts of you that you never knew exsisted.. pop a circle of amazing people, sound healings and nature in the mix, some powerful medicine for your soul xxx We will be in a lovely area on the beach shaded by big beautiful palm trees
9am till 1pm (longer if needed sometimes time just flys by trust me!)

Tangaroa Blue Beach Cleanup

22nd November Tangaroa Blue 4 Mile Beach Cleanup

4 Mile Beach in Port Douglas is one of our longest running QLD beach monitoring sites, which we clean and record data on every month.
Our Tangaroa Blue coordinator will be meeting volunteers at Bruno Reidwig Park at the end of Solandar Blvd, Port Douglas at 8:30am on September 12th for a beach clean-up and data collection activity.
All equipment will be provided, we just need volunteers to wear enclosed shoes, bring sun/rain protection, a reusable water bottle and lots of energy.
